What Is the Difference Between Public and Private Cloud?


Clouds are no longer just the white puffy things floating in the sky. Unless you have been living under a rock for the past 10 years, you will know that clouds are where we store all of our data. But did you know there are different types of clouds for data storing? There are two main types of clouds: private cloud and public cloud. Both types of clouds have their benefits, and in this video, you will learn about some of the differences between the two main types of cloud storage options.

In short, a private cloud is exactly that: private. A private cloud is owned by one organization and allows for the utmost privacy, as no one outside of the organization is allowed to access said private cloud. Public clouds are units where everyone’s data can be stored, such as social media. The most common example people give is to think of a private cloud as a house and a public cloud as an apartment complex.
