In short, a private cloud is exactly that: private. A private cloud is owned by one organization and allows for the utmost privacy, as no one outside of the organization is allowed to access said private cloud. Public clouds are units where everyone’s data can be stored, such as social media. The most common example people give is to think of a private cloud as a house and a public cloud as an apartment complex.
